About The Scandal of TUR 15

 

Everybody was shocked, everybody didn't know what they're doing but it was happened and their marks will be remembered, always.

Tour of Turkey, aka TUR 15 is the most known bicycle competition in Turkey. Last week, 51st was organised. And on its last day, was definitely horrible. Last stage of TUR organisation is always Istanbul stage which is 124 km. Because of its full name "Cumhurbaskanlıgı Bisiklet Turu" which means "Presidential Bicycle Tour" ; president of Turkey, Erdogan was in there for ceremony. But because of Erdogan's coming, safety precautions were the top limit as always.

Not only the audience suffered from this precautions, team members, doctors and other staffs were completely searched by safety members, even the mascot of the TUR 15. Also, everywhere was covered by snipers' for assasination attempt. In order to president's conservativeness; the models had to wear long and closed dresses in order to skirts! Whole staff and members reacted for this silly precautions but these reacts were not important in Turkey, as always.

Luis Bonet from Team Caja Rural Seguros won the final stage and cyclists were ready for award ceremony. But there was an another fault. President came for give awards but he talked over 15 minutes on political things in ceremony. Cyclists were bored and exhausted. And finally, Mark Cavendish bursted; but what is this? A security member pull Cavendish's back of the neck and Cavendish had to turn back to the ceremony place. How can that man do this kind of unbeliveable thing? In Turkey, I give up thinking "How is that possible?" questions.

This year was a completely black mark for TUR organization. A lot of team showed their reacts but "will somethings change next years?" question's answer is a huge unknown already.
